yep... aurora used to be part of quezon. the province dot divided and was named after the wife of manuel quezon after her death in an ambush.
anyway, i'm glad that baler is more accessible and safer these days. i think baler is one of the under rated provinces here in the country.
i think it's been 15 years since i've been to hundred islands. again, somewhat under rated. or maybe it was eclipsed by other places like bora, bohol and palawan (my favorite haha!). hundred islands was really famous back in the day. i heard that other islands that used to be uninhabited and prohibited to tourists are now also available for tourists to enjoy.
ilocos sur and ilocos norte, these places are quite far but i would say, it's really, really worth the trip. from well paved roads, lush green sceneries, historical places and structures, local delicacies and food plus the thriving culture. my grandma is a native of paoay, ilocos norte. they lived practically across the church. their ancestral home is now a unesco heritage site.
if you're a fan of vigan longganisa, i'm sure you'll like the ilocos longganisa of ilocos norte. classic bagnet is to die for. literally and figuratively.
bagalicious, if you're planning to go south, i suggest you take rizal-quezon
-bicol route rather than the usual slex-batangas-quezon route. via rizal will let you discover a lot of beatiful places, culture and again, food.
